Scissors case - stitching finished

I've (just about) finished all the cross stitch on my scissors case now. I'm really pleased with how it's worked out and so wanted to log it at this point before it's all put together.

I've folded it into its finished shape to take some photos of it, but it needs ironing to put it properly into shape. The top flap will be held down by something like a button and will be where the scissors go into the case.

The next step is to get some material to line the inside and I have also found a blog online which explains how to sew together a project like this.

So the stitching is taking longer than I thought :) but it's good fun stitching a design that I created.

Scissors case - stage 1

So I decided to create a scissor case as I bought a lovely pair of embroidery scissors and didn't want them getting damaged. 
I am creating it myself as I couldn't see many designs that I liked and it was also a bit pricey to buy one - so paying a lot for something I wasn't too keen on didn't appeal :)

I've finished the design and have started stitching it. I've used a spare piece of Aida which I got free, so if it doesn't work or I make a mistake I'm happy to re-do it again.

Here's my completed cockerel. I really liked the bright colours and I enjoyed building it all up.

Winter Robin completed

So here’s my finished Robin, with legs and eyes :)

It’s been really fun doing it and I’m very pleased with how it looks.

I think the backstitching could have been done better but it’s something to work on for next time – and as they say, practice makes perfect.

On to the next pattern!
